Saturday 28th March 2020 7pm
The Chelmsford Singers bring a feast of choral music to Brentwood Cathedral for their Spring concert in March: they will present a programme including anthems from the British choral tradition by Stanford, Ireland, Britten, and Bairstow, and will be joined by choristers from Chelmsford and Brentwood Cathedrals. The centrepiece of the concert will be a full performance of a Requiem setting by David Briggs, international organist and composer; the Requiem takes traditional texts, setting them in sumptuous harmonies with a distinctly French flavour. The singers will be joined by Chelmsford Cathedral’s Assistant Organist, Hilary Punnett, and members of Chelmsford Sinfonietta – with a programme designed to complement the resonant and spacious setting of Brentwood’s Cathedral this promises to be an occasion not to be missed!
