Tim Carey lives in Chelmsford and enjoys a career full of variety, as solo performer, chamber-music player, orchestral keyboard player and teacher. His early studies were with Harold Parker, Louis Kentner and then at Royal College with Kendall Taylor, David Parkhouse and Bernard Roberts. Whilst continuing to work with many different instrumentalists, he has established an international reputation as a specialist in flute and piano music, performing with flautists and playing for flute festivals and master-classes all over the world. As an orchestral keyboard player he has worked with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Bournemouth Orchestras, the Philharmonia, Scottish Opera, the BBC Concert Orchestra and the Ulster orchestra in Belfast. He remains much in demand as a teacher throughout Essex and farther afield.

Tim’s other interests include reading, languages, anything to do with cars, aircraft and boats, as well as spending time with his large family, the older ones of whom are all professional musicians!
